Matthew Jelavic

President and CEO, CIM Chartered Managers Canada

Dr. Matthew Jelavic is President and CEO of Chartered Managers Canada, President of the Canadian Society of Professional Engineers, Board Director with Chartered Professionals in Human Resources Canada and Board Director with the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers.  Matthew is also a Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Durham College and Adjunct Associate Professor of Management at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Prior to his entry into academia, Matthew worked in the water treatment, tunnel boring, plastics extrusion, automotive manufacturing and consulting industries in various engineering and management capacities.  He continues to be actively engaged in management consulting work through his firm, Strategy One Consulting Inc. He holds undergraduate qualifications in mechanical engineering and industrial technology, graduate qualifications in operational research, a master’s degree in management sciences and a doctorate in business administration.  He is a Chartered Manager and Licensed Professional Engineer.
