Why did you decide to study an MBA?
I decided to study an MBA because I’m at the age that when I’m seeing people entering the workforce I thought I needed something that made me a little bit more relevant and gain a recent qualification so that I could progress my career.
What are the greatest personal and professional benefits you’ve experienced from the MBA so far?
For me, it’s the growth that’s come with the different subjects. It was choosing things that stretched how I think, and which has added benefit in how I do my job. For example, in the finance module it was, not something I enjoyed, but it was something that when I finished it, it was a sense of achievement. And from that, I’ve been able to encourage my staff to believe in themselves.
Is it easy to study with AIB and maintain a work-life balance?
I found it easy to study with AIB. I had actually started with another institution and transferred because I liked the AIB model and I found that I had a lot of support. What made it a lot easier was that I could always pick up the phone and ask for assistance if I needed it.
Would you like to add any further reflections or thoughts about your MBA journey?
I’d like to thank the staff at AIB because every single time that I rang up with a question, with a query, when I needed to change some of my subjects, I found that the staff were always helpful and the academics were always available. I wouldn’t have got through if I didn’t have that support.
