Why did you decide to study an MBA?
I decided to study an MBA to gain that business knowledge that I was lacking because I wanted to climb the corporate ladder at my workplace and that was the next best route to go.
What were your main challenges throughout the MBA journey, and how did you overcome it?
My main challenge was being alone and studying online. But I overcame those by using my community, using the AIB team, and just building relationships and having fun and enjoying the program.
How are you applying the skills you learned from MBA to your role?
I’m able to apply the skills that I’ve learned in everyday work. So between leadership, change management, strategic thinking, critical analysis, it’s my job every day. So the MBA has given me those tools to be able to apply them to my job every day.
Tell us a little bit about the networking opportunities that you see from AIB. Did you tap into the online student communities?
I tapped into the AIB network opportunities through WhatsApp, Facebook groups, Skype groups, and to be able to relate to different cohorts and students that helped me along the journey. It was more for support, in terms of they were going through this so they understood the tough times, the good times. We laughed, we cried. So they supported me through that. And also, through the AIB team. With the time difference, it worked in my favour, so I could connect with the AIB support staff in the evenings and get the support I needed from the different teams to get through the program.
