Why did you decide to study an MBA?
The decision for my personal growth to embark on my MBA began when I was looking to change roles after a long history with a large Australian company. I had the realisation that while I had a significant amount of vocational experience, I lacked the academic experience to support and back that up. This MBA has not only provided the academic qualifications I was seeking, but I truly believe it supported my personal growth and my future business growth.
How has the AIB MBA helped you with any type of career progression or career success?
An MBA has already supported my career progression. I think it’s certainly what helped me get the current role – so that I had an aptitude to be able to study and learn, even throughout a huge way into my degree.
The MBA has given me some really great understanding of core business skills that I find myself applying in my role every day. I often find myself going back to my textbooks and back to my notes to apply to things that I’m doing at work or projects I’m running. I think it will help me progress in my career, but I think it’s helped me to be a better leader.
Would you advise anyone on your team to study with AIB?
I would absolutely advise people to study with AIB. I think the flexibility of it being online was fantastic. Having a full-time job and a family, the online study meant that I could fit it into my schedule when I needed to do things. I also found the support from AIB was amazing. So, both the content online, in terms of the detail we had behind the information given to us and the guidance – all the facilitators were fantastic; their ability to guide us and support us and answer our questions, was great.
There’s so much flexibility that really supports you to do the MBA in a way that suits you. So, that’s probably one of the main reasons why I would recommend AIB. The support staff were amazing as well.
