Blair Boyd

Blair is an international engineering program management and operational effectiveness professional. Currently, he is the Director, Corporate PMO at STEMCELL Technologies, a world-class and industry-leading BioTech company based in Vancouver, Canada.

Blair has an extensive history of operations and leadership roles across the globe. Previously, he served as an Engineering Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy for 15 years, reaching the rank of Lieutenant Commander. In this role, he led diverse civilian and military teams in complex engineering, training, strategic, operational and maintenance contexts. This included public relations and humanitarian support through a number of government departments around the world.

Over the past decade, Blair has led portfolios of complex defence engineering, enterprise process improvement, and in-service support programs for OSI Maritime Systems in Vancouver, BC, and Arcfield in Calgary, AB, Canada. This includes managing teams that design integrated bridge systems for warships and submarines, supporting Canada’s fighter aircraft fleet, and leading advanced research and development (R&D) in the commercialisation of drones.

Blair holds an MBA (Dean’s Merit List) from the Australian Institute of Business, where he was awarded top student in his Entrepreneurship and Integrated Logistics classes. He also has a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons.) from the University of Auckland, majoring in Embedded Systems and minoring in Robotics. He retains professional certifications in Change Management (PROSCI), Risk Management (CRM-GRMI), International Relations, Agile Project Management and Project Management Professional (PMI).

In his spare time, Blair loves to travel, is an avid snowboarder, and enjoys sailing, soccer, beach volleyball, and plays competitive field hockey.

Blair can provide guidance on stakeholder and relationship management, bringing people together and leading them along the journey and utilising systems to design operational efficiencies.
