Online MBA rankings in Australia: Different types of MBA rankings
Earlier this year, CEO Magazine conducted the 2023 Global MBA Rankings, and 9 programs at Australian institutions were awarded a Tier One global status, including the Australian Institute of Business (AIB) – ranking impressively at 20th in the world and 5th in Australia.
So why are MBA rankings in Australia so important? Because rankings help potential students decide which MBA program is right for them. In an often crowded market, choosing a business school that ticks all the boxes can be a difficult process – especially when you consider the time and money that will be invested.
AIB has featured in many different MBA rankings, including CEO Magazine, Australian Financial Review (AFR) Boss Magazine and MBA News. With a strong industry focus, our Fast-Track MBA equips you with contemporary leadership and management knowledge that can be immediately applied in the workplace as you progress in your studies.
Read on to discover the different types of MBA rankings.
CEO Magazine – 2022 MBA Rankings
According to the CEO Magazine, their objective is simple: ‘to identify schools that marry exceptional quality with great ROI’.
One of the most extensive of all the rankings, the CEO Magazine’s ranking system includes schools from North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). It also ranks data from over 180 schools offering 347 different programs in 27 countries – 98 of those programs being online, 92 Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and 157 full-time and part-time programs.
CEO Magazine prides itself on looking beyond the marketing brochures and ad campaigns to examine the MBA in depth. They consider things such as:
- The learning environment
- Class sizes
- Tuition fees
- Faculty
- Delivery methods
- International diversity
- Gender parity
- And more.
With that in mind, AIB’s Fast-Track MBA was given an honourable tier one global status, ranking 8th in Australia and 28th globally. Our MBA provides students with the business and leadership skills they need to thrive in an increasingly uncertain world – a factor not missed by the CEO Magazine.
AFR Boss Magazine
Every two years, the AFR Boss Magazine publishes a ranking of Australian business schools’ MBA programs. The latest rankings were shared in 2019.
With the help of a market research agency, the AFR conducts two surveys – one with alumni and another with the schools directly. The first survey involves over a thousand past students and asks for their feedback on the programs, their delivery and the value offered. This survey is weighted at 55% of the final results.
The second survey requires schools to provide information on their entry requirements, research output, staff and the quality and diversity of students. The questions asked may vary from year to year due to the shifts in the university and industry environments. MBA schools also often introduce important changes into their programs that need to be accounted for.
Our Fast-Track MBA was ranked 18th in Australia. Unlike other rankings, AFR Boss Magazine focuses solely on Australian business schools – meaning that the results highlight graduates within Australian industries. And as Australia’s number one online MBA for working professionals, AIB is a leader in the Australian online MBA space.
