Devinder is Head of Discipline Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the Australian Institute of Business. Before coming here, he was Chair Professor at the World Maritime University, a specialist agency of the UN located in Malmo, Sweden.
Devinder brings to this role practical knowledge and experience in multidisciplinary activity and programs, including academia in Ireland, the UK, Australia and Sweden, the Australian Public Service, government owned corporations and the logistics and supply chain industries, including operations management and integrated systems. He has lived in several countries in Asia and Europe.
While Devinder publishes as a normal academic, more of his work is government or industry advisory and restricted to public access.
Devinder has been an Adjunct Professor of Transport Economics at the School of Management in the Faculty of Business, Government, and Law, University Canberra, and with the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, Canberra. He has been chairman of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia, Tasmania branch, and vice-chairman of the Australian Capital Territory branch.
For several years, Devinder was an invited member of the Board of Directors of the Transport and Logistics Skills Council (TLISC), later renamed Australia Industry Standards.
His PhD thesis, from the University of Cardiff, was on Management Satisfaction with QA systems in the UK Freight Transport Industry (road, rail, warehousing, aviation, shipping, ports, waterways).
